Has anyone used one of these?
« on: June 22, 2018, 09:17:15 AM »
I have seen smaller foiled fins like this in the past too, has anyone actually tried one of these on a raceboard or longboard and generated more speed than drag, was snooping around used foils and it caught my eye.

I was also wondering about using this type of finfoil on a raceboard. At let's say 5 mph is there enough wing in that fly fin to give enough lift to offset any drag? Would be cool to do some time trials with and without fly fin.

Any of the smart engineers on here wanna chime in?

Imagine having your fin touch when starting off or coming in.. and going through a shallow spot.. Total nightmare INO..

I can’t imagine it having good tracking ability.. or turning abilities.. and I’m guessing it would have a more dragy feel than anything else.. I wouldn’t bother.

I know some who tested it for windsurfing and once they found it a failure maybe they want to sell them off as a SUP fin now.

Hell, I'd try it. But then, I'd try anything.
