Apples Found
« on: June 20, 2018, 08:02:18 PM »
It was near flat today here and trying to catch anything was a challenge. So after a few super tiny non-waves I decided to paddle way the heck out there to a drum float that the dredge company has in place for the upcoming replenishment ops. It was so nice and glassy and the water's in the mid to upper 60s. I found two apples bobbin' around out there...two cig butts too. Both the apples just fit in my wax pocket and the butts I stuffed into the cuff of the waist leash. I shoulda brought the GoPro with me. Shot a few pics after I got home. Been paddling alot to try and stay in shape for the foil. Unfortunately it's been delayed in shipping. Also picked up a serious amount of butts off the street on my way home. Took quite a while and luckily I found a bag to put em all in. New cart is a real help haulin' sup.
My last wave in was a pleasant surprise. I paddled pretty much as hard as I could and caught the only waist high wave to the beach that came through.

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

No apples today. Crazy good glass to paddle in this evening though. All the way out to the pipeline and then back. 'Bout on hour ea way. Was rewarded w/a coupla rides right in front of the fill ops on return....only  a couple though before the guard chased me away. Lucked and got to srf it...waves were perf to get a sup movin over it. Great way to spend the longest day of the year!
