Great post EB.

This is a relativley well known issue, the "un-safe" compounds have been clearly identified, safer substitutes are available, it's like we still insist on wearing asbestos sleepwear.

So, who has a favorite "safe" sunscreen?

I'm going to try this one:

I haven't tried this one yet (https://stream2sea.com/product/sunscreen-spf-30), but it was the preferred, reef safe sunscreen on a snorkeling website I go on.

ive been using the above the last few years--since i saw it highly rated on EWG

ya seems simple to me, bean--the chemical screens are bad for reefs, and, likely humans, given the endochrine/hormonal effects--there are equally effective alternatives--why not use one?

maybe because large manufacturers of chem screens would lose a whole lotta bux retooling to produce less harmful blocks--so they spend instead on PR and media manipulators to obfuscate the reality of this shlt--standard procedure, tho more insidious now--with PR firms like Black Cube out there.
