October Ice-Cream Truck Syndrome!

October Ice-Cream Truck Syndrome has hit me hard. You know, the one where you think you hear the ice cream truck coming down the road so you drop everything, gather all the change you can find, then run out to the road as fast as you can to find Mr. Softee...and he's nowhere to be seen.

Yesterday the buoys showed a 3-5' NW swell coming to the north shore today. Finally, some winter juice! ...and when I arrived, the familiar jingle of crashing waves was gone. Hawaiian said the swell came during the night. I paddled out anyway, caught a few waves, and still started the week off right...in the ocean.

This post goes out to anyone else who feels like they're out in the water, money in hand, waiting for Mr. Softee.
