Distance correlation and funky statistics

I remember reading something about this years ago--nothing heavy duty and mathematical, just a popular puff piece like this, but the idea of doing Fourier transformations on data points to understand their relationship to each other made a lot of sense to me. It's fundamental in a different way in electronics. Interesting piece though, I'd assume Beasho is all over this.
