Dear Eva, where did you go?

Seems like whenever a repair got messy we would cite wisdom from her website.

Looking on the Wayback Machine, it does look like one of the last updates indicates her saying goodbye.
The link below seems to have pages working. Some of the later snapshots do not have working links.

Eva's web site was the best resource for board repair bar none.

Thanks Eva!

Absolutely....I printed the whole thing to PDF years ago when she announced her retirement. I still reference it.

Eva if you read this and ever want to take a vacation in Plymouth, we can host. I owe you for the education..... :)

Eva retired a long time ago, but she kept the site up for a long time--nice of her but it probably got silly to pay for nothing.

Eva actually retired almost 10 years ago...at 5796 repairs...but, ended up doing over another 1000 repairs since then...as well as providing her highly skilled boat survey/inspection skills to clients in the know that needed advice on used boat purchases...

I (we) had the great fortune for couple of decades to have had her located just down the road a piece from us...and, learned so much about board construction by osmosis as she reverse engineered and did failure analysis on almost every brand's boards...so, of course I would seek her out for consultation when I started working on developing production SUPs with Sean Ordonez back in the day...to show our appreciation we threw her a retirement party and gifted her a Raaphorst designed 12'2" Starboard SUP windSUP...

http://blog.surfingsports.com/2008/12/eva-hollmann-boardlady-passes-torch.html

We visited with her a bit up at the lake in the Southern Sierras that she retired to a few months ago back in December...

Eva is doing great and is still passionate about windsurfing and SUP paddling...as well as environmental issues in the area...she was quite generous with her time helping us teach young children and adults how to windsurf...she was also very gracious with her time and expertise with complete strangers that never intended to help her monetize the benefits that they gained...regardless, of the status of her self maintained website...Eva will always be THE BOARD LADY...

Its a shame even though she was retired.. there was a lot of great information available on her web-site, to bad the data and links were not brought forward/archived on a site such as this one.

Congrats to her, and hope she thouroughly enjoys retirement..

Eva officially passed the torch on she wrote a while back. The small quart of resin she had to dabble in officially dried out. It’s a great honor to have her trust in my work and pass down  all her long time customers my way once in awhile

Well eDubz,
She could not have passed referrals to a more qualified master of the trade. You might have to make a few how to repair video's........ in a dress ;D
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

What sets Eva apart is her willingness to share not only the finished repair, but perhaps more importantly, the details of how to go about it.

Three cheers for Hans! All the best to Eva too.

Tangent time: Hans' finFoil app is quite a bit of fun. With the finFoil online editor I found three things quickly -
1) Each time you render after an edit, it opens in a new tab which is an awesome way to compare iterations. But on my old Mac I have to close unused tabs to keep firefox working.
2) I edited out of the box provided to get a longer foil. Then rendered, came back to edit and the foil had shrunk to within the box. Repeated until I had the length I needed.
3) I zoomed in the screen to make the editing box bigger - much easier to see. Command+ on the mac.
