Crystal River area advise

My wife and I are going to plan a trip to the crystal River area next month. We were thinking about staying at the Plantation Inn because it's right on the water. Has anyone had good/bad experience there or recommend somewhere better? Thanks

I was at Crystal Springs years ago for Dive quals.  We stayed in pretty rough accommodations.  It’s a very popular area with divers because of the water clarity.

We have a group that has been doing a Crystal River/Rainbow Springs Paddle Surf Weekend for the last 5 years. Always in Feb because the Manatee are up in the springs that time of year!👍... Here’s a video from one of the early years. We always stay at the Plantation... great place with lots of amenities!! Good for kids and adults.. Highly recommend it!! Have FUN!!
