Ahh Hell!
« on: March 29, 2018, 11:55:55 AM »
Apparently the rules have changed, there no longer is a Hell, now what are we supposed to say when we get really pissed off?  Or tell somebody where to go?

Pope Francis: 'There is no Hell'
3-29-18

https://www.cnsnews.com/blog/michael-w-chapman/pope-francis-there-no-hell
It takes a quiver to do that.

This guy is a weird Pope. I'm an atheist so it doesn't really matter to me....but doesn't that mean there is no god...all part of the same mythology? I guess if true it would matter to me....fade away instead of burning until the end of time sounds like a good deal.

Telling them to go disappear just doesn't have the same zing to it.... ;)

A question one of Headmount's friends asked recently, which I thought was a good one:  Why is there a highway to Hell, but only a stairway to Heaven?

Because you have to dig deep, before you can climb.
It takes a quiver to do that.

According to the Vatican: "What is reported by the author in today’s article [in La Repubblica] is the result of his reconstruction, in which the textual words pronounced by the Pope are not quoted."

In otherwords, Scalfari, the Pope's friend, has taken him out of context.

Some of our best minds believe that once we are dead and brain activity ceases we are gone forever.  Yet, just a couple hundered years ago, the best minds considered death to be once the heart stopped beating.  I believe that there are components of life that we have yet to discover/understand.

Joni Mitchell:
"Everybody's saying that hell's the hippest way to go
well I don't think so, but I'm
Gonna take a look around it though"

From "Blue"
It takes a quiver to do that.

According my surgeon i died on an operating table,  lost all my blood out my neck. It was totally awesome.   I didnt see a hell or a heaven, hate to break it to you, but I think some of the books out there are a bit askew.

Go read some NDE stuff, lots of commonalities..  or go get some ayhuasca,,,same road,,,and it aint a staircase or a highway, hahaha

Had a country bumpkin uncle that used to work for the R.R., he used to say "well Hell fire and save matches!"
It takes a quiver to do that.

Why is there a highway to Hell, but only a stairway to Heaven?

Sign of the times

more bad    less good

So are good choices harder to make than bad choices?
Is it good to be bad?
Heaven no
hell yes
I don't understand.

I have to wonder how many of the worlds religions started because of a bad trip. I've seen God too..... ;)

I would guess plenty Stoney.   However, no organized religion by itself is a corallary of whether God exists.

Everyone has a personal choice about whether to believe or not.  The fact that we live in a place and time where we get to choose, change our minds from time to time, or even chose to be agnostic, is pretty damned cool.
