check cam now if you see in time

today was forecast to be super windy and big--too windy--wind lighter tomorrow but with swell dropping off quickly

figured only reasonable window would be tomorrow dawn

just checked cam and it's big and buff, handling whatever wind with no issue--few people in......

torture to see---stuck unable to reverse plan and lv work.

Watchin' surf cams while you're at work can be psychologically detrimental! WALK AWAY! and is the water really still that cold?
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

all buff now

cookie that b90 rockaway break is very closey and has a crowd often--in fact i find all of rocakawy closey compared to LB--worth the extra 15 min drive---actually the sunova creekfest last summer, featuring james casey live in person, was at about b94, just west of th b90 cam

in summer the breaks in rockaway that allow surfing get absurdly crowded--i mean i ve been there days that were barely worthy wave-wise, and found hundereds of people at every jetty peak--insane--you can get there via subway

here's another camview of rockaway--b67 thru b77--note how close the jetties are to one another and note the general closeyness

I'm stuck in CT for client meetings until Thursday night.  Checked the cams a couple times today - Torment is the right word...

eastbound- Rockaway is def a cool place. Only surfed there once quite a few yrs back in November. Do believe it was around 2009 or so. Had a memorable session as the waves were very lined up. Crowd seemed very chill. Summertime is crazy there I'm sure. Luckily here at my beaches they are now allowing surfing in all areas outside the swimming flags which is probably about 70% of all the usable space.

sorry you missed it! you to eastie  :-\ Wind was pretty stiff offshore but quite doable on sup. Kinda right at that threshold point where you're questioning if it's a go.

Here's a few off my cam from today. I believe they named this storm "Toby". Set up real nice here.
