I can't believe what a dismal winter and spring we have had for surf in SoCal.   A Surfline article addresses this phenomena: http://www.surfline.com/surf-news/pesky-high-pressure-plagues-the-pacific-while-the-storm-track-off-the-east-coast-delivers-east-coast-surf-shin_152230/

It's been a challenging winter for sure. Similar to our previous hurricane season which also went richter! These hybrid storms are scary. This is the first winter w/out a srf trip for me in forever. I ain't complaining and suiting up is a good workout!

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

I'm good! Didn't hurt that I scored some proper boots and gloves this winter. Been super toasty in em. and my hooded fullsuit is on it's fourth winter now and is still super warm. I sent it back right b4 last winter and it got a full redo on the fluid weld seems.
Only had to pay like $15 shipping to get it out to CA from here in NJ. Lifetime guarantee on O'neill wetsuits for the seams.
But I will need more than 60 degree water and air temps to get in trunks..more like 68. Can't wait though that's for sure.

I wish the Supreme came a bit thicker. Love the easy on off, super stretchy, doesn't inhibit movement at all. It's a 4/3/2..a 5/4/3 would be perfect. I add a 3/5mm vest/hood. I have the same boots and love them....tore out the back and patched....time for some new ones. I need some new gloves too. Hands getting colder easier lately...friggin arthritis.... >:(

Hey it depends where on the west coast you live ?   Its been great in Oregon with consistent surf in offshore winds since Xmas .  Really pretty warm too unlike the icecoast .  A 4/3 , 5mil booties is perfect for sup with water temps in the low 50s .  The sandbars have seemed to line up great on all the popular places.

You guys down south have it too easy. I wear rubber all summer.

I'm used to it though. I've never surfed anywhere south of NH.

All summer...even on a SUP? I've never worn rubber in the summer....even in Maine.

my patagonia r whatever (3/2) is worn--ima try the new xcel drylok X, with the japanese limestone neoprene, once prices come down sa bit--3/2 prices come down in spring, right!? haha
