I would have to think on this device.

I think this device would be pretty good for flat water paddling and maybe sup surfing, but and there is always a "but". What happens if you're very far from shore and the device "does not inflate"?
Blue Planet Duke: 10'5" x 32" x 4.5" @ 190 Liters (2 Dukes)
Sup Sports Hammer: 8'11" x 31" x 4" @ 140 Liters
SUP Sports One World: 11'1" x 30" x 4.5" @ 173 Liters
CJ Nelson Parallax: 9'3" x 23 1/2" x 3 3/16" @ 78.8 Liters (prone surfing longboard; Thunderbolt Technologies build in Red construction)

It says all the strokes are easy to swim while wearing it.  I may get one purely for that reason, since I'm a horrible backstroker.  But I've been burned by this type of promise before, such as after my dog's back operation when the vet told me she'd start heeling immediately.

Seriously, it has some nice features with the lack of bulk and keeping your face out of the water when it inflates.  I can't think of any other pfds that any paddler would wear do that, inflatable or not.

Looks interesting, but my concern is if it has enough floatation.  Looks adequate in a calm glassy pool, but in the ocean, with swells/chop, seems one may get swamped.  Good idea, will keep posted.

If they offer a spiked version with auto-inflate, I'm in!  I should say, my Bulldog is in.

I understand it is "light", but wonder if it is neutrally bouyant when uninflated.  Also, and as Wingy already pointed out, does it have a manual inflation tube?

When testing my waist CO2 PFD the Velcro didn’t release. If it were around my neck it would have probably killed me. It squeezed the hell out of my guts. My first reaction was to unbuckle it, but was so tight that I couldn’t.  I had to rip the Velcro open.

If it works, it would be very useful for keeping your head above water.  With all other floatation that I know of, you are not guaranteed of keeping your face above water if you are unconscious.   IOW, you would float, but it may be face down.
