Here you go. Interesting to watch whats happening with foils. I felt good enough today to cruise down to SanO, take some pictures, and hang out :)

A friend of mine just got this custom Kalama foil board the other day.

Thanks for that man. Love seeing the unedited footage with the take offs and the awkward pumping and all. It's easy to get seduced by the sexy footage and forget how much work goes into it.

Is that Kalama board basically flat on top with all the rocker cut into the bottom?

There is a little rocker in the deck, but a lot on the bottom. The rails are the exact opposite of what you want for surfing. I would call those chine / stepped-up rails. Designed to not cause the board to turn.

Great video!! I happened to fly down to San Diego just before Christmas and tried foil surfing on the ocean for the first time. Below is a picture from Dog Patch as well (they should call it the Fun Patch!!)

Nice video TD and picture StS.
Interesting watching Chuck getting out of the water.... be tricky in a tough shorebreak.

I know the waves are crappy, but awkward pumping is right. When I windsurfed, I hated pumping and it looks worse  on foils.
Creek, when SUPosition was paddling back like Chuck during a shore break, the foil came down and cut his face pretty good.

I can't believe all those guys were out at Dogpatch without anything on their feet.  I'm more surprised that I didn't see blood on their feet.  That place tears up your feet and I never surf there without booties.

I don't always wear booties there. Really depends on the tide.

Here are some stills I took of Chuck.

I never wear booties at Dogpatch. I just yell "ouch, ouch, ouch" as I stumble up the cobble. Actually, if you get out in the right places and you don't mind dinging your fin a little, you can come through relatively unscathed. I consider fins to be disposable in SoCal.
