Joy to the universe

Also known as Merry Christmas, no matter what planet you're from.
It takes a quiver to do that.

I wish I'd seen that, It was a SpaceX Falcon9 launch from Vandenburg. Those are big buggahs. And of course, it got every tinfoil hat in SoCal buzzing.

What I REALLY want to see is the launch of a Falcon Heavy (three falcon nines strapped together). This first one is going to send a Tesla Roadster out beyond Mars blasting Space Oddity from its stereo during launch. Gotta love Elon's little touches. Naming the recovery barge "Of Course I Still Love You" was another, but this tops it.

Major league ludicrous mode.  https://www.theverge.com/2017/12/22/16811944/elon-musk-spacex-tesla-roadster-mars-falcon-heavy

Bill, that roadster pic reminds me of the opening of Heavy Metal. You sure you have the right music?

I live not too far north of Vandenberg, so I got to see the initial launch but it arced over to the south, so the peeps in southern Cali. got the big show, but this is the best vid of the southern view that I've seen.  What's cool is after the booster separation you can plainly see the tumbling of it sending out pinwheels of left over propellant.

A 14,000 pound satellite, a 90 million buck launch since they couldn't recover the booster
