Body armor

I did a search on old threads but would like a more updated opinion/suggestions on body armor.

Lower body protection? I know a lot of people wear leg protection but hips and coccyx seem important to protect.  Not sure what to do when wearing a wetsuit.  Something like this under?

Or more burly hip protection like...

Only worried that may be really tight under a wetsuit.

And for upper body...

Overkill????

Any thoughts welcome.

Thanks.

I have Dainese hip protectors (for mtn biking and early season skiing). They are mesh. Perfect for the prupose you ask for. You can wear over your wetsuit. (buy a size bigger

I think you'd want the mesh ones.

I’d post images of Kari Traa in the shower with [just] her Dainese protection on but they probably are NOT SAFE FOR WORK.

Google images of her yourself if you’re interested in a demonstration of Dainese mesh protection in a wet environment.

She's a hot skier.

I can't imaging the pounding you river guys might be subject to.
