Yeah Bounce is not super light but some glass boards are as heavy than their hollow version H-TCT.  Was told that this board was good for rental use by one of the Zone sponsors.

That's awesome! Which Innegra Styling and Construction? BGF HIN40, 31 or 33?

IN36A

I think...don’t remember for sure.

I just go with what my surfboard supplier uses.  50” wide full rolls drop shipped from BGF.

This stuff doesn’t fray like other innegras, like the mixed carbon/innegra in one weave sollar sells. The BGF feels like it’s been treated with hair spray. No fray at all.

On my SUPs, it’s covered with 4oz E. Been using it for the past year on top lam. Boards have been holding up better than expected. Board weights about the same as just S glass lams I used in the past.

Eagle , sorry, I thought you were talking about those dang plastic skins. Yes, these constructions are pretty crazy when done well.

I did a full season of testing a Pau Hana with their ultra-tough ricochet construction.

Long story short, it's pretty good. The construction is a tiny bit heaver than a normal eps board, but it's tougher. It will crack, and I have proof. Actually, the paint is much more of a problem than the construction material. That bubbles really easily.

Thanks Dwight, we used the same innegra purchased from FFG at the Stuart location and our boards are taking a licking with no signs of failure. Unfortunately, they are no longer carrying the product. I like that you used carbon over innegra instead of what I did which was innegra over carbon....no fun if you sand through the fill coat.

I used an Innegra sample for a repair a few years ago--I sanded into it. You know the rest. What a mess. I guess I'm going to have to revisit that.

Here is a canoe layup using Innegra.  There are a few vids online showing major abuse dished out.  MEC put up a good one basically trying their best to trash one of these.  So the tech is already there and pretty well sorted.  This one adds Basalt fibers to the mix.

Dwight made a 9'9" longboard SUP that I picked up this past August. I got into some 3-4' point break from one of the hurricanes one day in Sept and it surfed beautifully. Really, really happy with it. It's light and feels tough as nails.

http://supsurfmachines.com/ is his website. Great guy, very helpful through the process of ordering, etc.

That Innegra Basalt is amazingly tough.  Most any glass or carbon or kevlar would shatter and explode if dropped from a 100' height.  The torture tests are pretty extreme.

But was actually quite surprised of that Pau Hana paint and deck pad delaminating so much.  May be that we have been very lucky -> but we have not experienced much wear and tear at all with our equipment.  Especially considering how much we use our stuff.  Only problem has been a very small single paint chip on each board from smacking into something.  Otherwise they are pretty much the same as when we bought them used for about 50% off.  The All Star especially -> has held up after continual use in the ocean.  Constant slamming into waves.

Now not to say these boards are tough and can take a huge beating.  Have not subjected them to that.  But we use them normally like others we know -> and they have exceeded our expectations.  Even the fragile early gen Dom that easily pressure dents.  Was expecting that thing to snap at some point -> but it still paddles just fine like it did the first day.  Smooth and silent but flexy.

Would think PH should get that delam issue sorted right away if others also have that problem.

Eagle, yeah I was surprised with the problem. It's too bad because it's a well-designed board otherwise. It's taken knocks and got tossed through the whitewash at Rockaway Beach. (Creek can attest to that!) This seemed like a weird oversight, like someone at Pau Hana put a wrong ingredient in the paint.

BTW, I wrote that article.

Yeah thought your write-up was really good.  The underlying Ricochet material does look solid and pretty much unscathed.  So maybe the paint just needs an extra step or some additives to get it to stick better.

For us the only time any little bubbles ever formed was when the Dom was put away damp in its board bag early on.  The gloss paint finish seemed to absorb water.  But fortunately after fully drying out they went away.  We learned from that pretty quick.  ;)
