Kanaha ski pics from today
« on: September 12, 2017, 11:28:25 PM »
Really stoked on downwinding on ski but we're in some kind of doldrums the last week that have killed the wind and made it uber hot.  So we went went out this morning for some of the first bumps of the upcoming winter season.  This is why I got the ski, for days like this when it's so small no one is out.  When I first began last Jan. it felt fun to just go straight off adolf but now I'm more comfortable on it after 9 months and have been experimenting with lean for turning as the rudder is totally useless once you lift the back end out of the water.  But radical lean works and muscling the boat around is very fun.

For a true surfer, any glide is a kick.

So fun.  I loved doing that on OC-1.  Solo sessions.  I never though a 1 foot wave could make the heart race, but in a 20+ foot carbon egg shell with very limited maneuverability.  Racing!

18' It's a very stable boat so even I can stay in it ... for the most part.

These photos are great. They were good when I looked at them on my phone but are truly amazing on a bigger screen. I should have gone out with you on my OC1 instead of chasing almost non existent surf and burning gas.

I'm guessing that JR took the pics - they're just fantastic. Oh, and nice shirt.

A straight on shot and a heavy roll to make sure my friend doesn't plow into me.

Nice shots Headmount, looks super fun.  I was wondering if anyone has foiled one of these surf skis?
