That guy again.

This is impressive given that it was a 6 minute Foil Board ride.

But notice

1) The stamina.  He is pumping and NOT gassing himself completely out.  Good technique!

2) His footwork.  Given all the talk about precise footwork he is able to dance around the deck.  You will see him drop his back foot to the tail to turn hard and then bring his back foot way forward, tightening his stance, to pump back out to sea.  Better pay attention to Kai he is clearly pushing the envelope in this developing sport.

What the actual f@ck?!?!?  Hard to believe that kind of playful movement on a tiny foil board is even possible.  And any normal human would have puked by the 1 minute mark.

theres nothing new or spectacular about this footage, just a few shitty dock start attempts with a water logged board and home made foil

Nice!  I assume you haven't made it yet or it would have been on film.

I was trying this with a homemade foil board and never got the guts to actually jump on the board off the dock.

if that's piros, and it's not the camera, the foil training regimen has peeled some weight off him

That was great! From his perfect foiling in that dreamy blue swell to the amazing povs he's achieving w/that rear facing nose mount. I was more than a little curious how he achieved that unique GoPro pov and then spied the jaws flex mount fitting on there. I always wanted to try that. Looks almost as cool as Clay's elevated GoPro rig.Weird how it cuts the nose of the board off though. Also that super extreme fisheye lens effect was cool. Wonder how you get that result?
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Crazy Cool Downwind action in the Gorge.

This may bring a resurgence of passion back to the Gorge.  As if it needs it.

The Gorge and Maui have been re-established as Mecca's this time for downwind foiling:

Opposite end of the spectrum.

I was reluctant to post this but then I remembered:

"Foiling is EASY"

It might be the easiest water-sport you ever tried behind a boat.  Not Kidding.

This also highlights the importance of footstraps.  These people were starting from scratch. But they couldn't mess up the foot placement.  I think I wasted 6 months of learning and not getting better because I didn't install straps.
