Zoners surf Hurricane "Gert" video

I road tripped to the Southside on Wednesday, to catch the strong side of the swell from Hurricane "Gert"
Dawn patrol was shared with Zoners: kayadogg and beasho, plus beasho's daughter Ruby.

Sorry kaya.... no vids of you but one short fly-by.

Watching beshao's daughter charge some pretty big waves, was pure gold!
She's a very strong paddler and gutsy.

beasho ripped it up all session. Super strong paddler, that got in super early, on fully unbroken waves with ease, setting up nice rides!

Later in the day, the wind switched, so I move to a different coast, just as the swell hit at max size.

I went to an easy "A" frame spot, and find only 5 guys out. Score!
Only 800 yards away, was another break that was super crowded and more walled up. (1st still picture)

I was stoked to get to ride my 9'4 "Creek" in some pretty big waves.
The GoPro makes them look disturbingly flat and small, but it was pretty big, sort of soft wave playland!
The "Creek" was solid as a rock....  carved like a knife at speed and top turns like butter.

Another excellent video from you. Love the length of the video too. You got some nice waves to ride from Gert.

BTW, of all the Sunova sups I've seen from videos and photos, your new "Creek" is the prettiest one of the bunch. I think your two color combination is the cat's meow.

I like the way you guys just take off in the middle of the proners, I haven't the guts to do that.

The wave gods came back to Santa Cruz for a couple of days in between flat spells and I had three days of surfing.  I am glad I didn't forget how after a couple of weeks not going out.  Looks like it may be going flat again post-eclipse.

The eclipse in Santa Cruise was more of a "brownout" because it was overcast.

Looking strong, Creek! Nice A-Frame softie, dad! Gert was def kinder to you New Englanders. I stayed on my local and it was quite challenging. Zippy tubing walls racing down the bars quickly. Enjoyed watching your vid and cool Beasho was out w/daughter in tow, even if there was 100 guys on it! I lucked, just me, a buddy on another sup, and a bodyboarder. Next break to the north had 20 on it!

No... Cape Cod got skunked with 3' mush.
I road tripped down to little Rhode Island because RI and the Islands got the full swell from Gert.

Cookieman is in New Jersey, which got some outstanding swell as well!
