Glides for days vid
« on: August 21, 2017, 12:25:08 AM »
This summer has been more than perfect for downwind surfing. It was windy almost every day and I had so much fun with the bumps. When you approach a downwind run as a surfing session, a new world opens. I hope you enjoy this video.

Best yet! Excellent filming, edit and awesome surfing.

My friends were saying that you haven't been cross stepping as much since you got the Rail. Thanks for putting that concern to rest.

You bastard. We don't have much wind in summer and this summer has been particularly windless (and lots of wasps). We were getting a little grumpy. Thanks for the temporary fix.

An excellent downwind video. Great waves and wind conditions for downwinding. You've got great footwork on your Jimmy Lewis board. A narrow board too. Looks to be around 26" wide.

BTW, as an added treat for me, I really enjoyed David Bowie's "Cat People" (Putting Out Fire) background music for this video.

Thanks for sharing your video.

Great video!
It looks like you are working to progress your already great footwork
even farther, very nice to watch and learn.

Any chance to see the course of the run on a map? I'm starting to think seriously
about a long layover in your area on my way to the Middle East next year.

Thanks Burchas for your comments. I am glad that you like the video. This run is in Karystos, a small town on Evia island. The run is only 4kms, ( I usually do it 2-3 times in a row and I just can't get enough of it ) but the wind is so strong and the bumps so good that I can't wait to visit this place every summer. It is an awesome playground for downwind practise. If you ever visit Greece please let me know. We have so many downwind runs around, I am sure you will have a great time.

DK. You know what comes after J? It's K...

Your vids are getting as good as DJs!

That looks like an awesome run, and I know what you mean about treating a run as you would surfing. You do need the right conditions (20 knots +), but when you switch to that mode (surfing) you tend to treat the board differently.. which you were doing in this vid with elegance and grace!

Thanks for sharing.  8)
