Lake Tahoe - Emerald Bay paddle
« on: August 01, 2017, 08:50:11 AM »
Every year my brother Trevor and I bring our families to Lake Tahoe and stay in these summer only cabins right on the lake. Last year we introduced a cabin neighbor to SUP, with an epic moonlight paddle. He was so stoked, he saved up enough money to buy a nice board and paddle just in time for Tahoe this year. We all got up early to catch the glass, and it paid off. This was from Camp Richardson to the Island in Emerald Bay and back. 9.1 miles total. The video is 15 minutes with some mellow music. It a nice little cruising tour.

I was there last summer at this time.. when I got the mob action from those ground wasps, aka 'meat bees', on that island in the middle.

My son tells me the wasp problem isn't so bad this year from all the snow this past winter.

Other than the insect deal, the place is staggering.  Beautiful beyond measure.  Perfect place to cruise around on a SUP.

That was a very enjoyable video to watch. Since I'm allowed to be on the water for flat water sessions on Sept 1st, your video really got me stoked. Beautiful flat water conditions with outstanding scenery.

Thanks for sharing this video.

This summer it was big mosquitoes. So much water that the meadows are soggy with standing water. They don't both me much, but my wife and son are still scratching the bites.

Just cruising and chatting was really perfect to take it all in.

When I lived there I enjoyed kayaking to the boaters only campground on the north end of Emerald Bay. I would take off out of the Keys and spend many weekends out there. Great memories!

Divers galore in that bay too.

I remember delivering a pair of seadoos to Elway. Beautiful house facing north on the lakefront just out of the Keys.
