You can edit your posts.

A few on the forum don't seem to know that you have the ability to edit after you make a post. Just hit Modify in the upper right corner. It will be there for about an hour after you make the post.

There is no need to make two or three posts in a row whenever you feel the need to add something.

Why do we lose the edit option later? Sometimes I need to fix a link or whatever. Stopping the edit is weird.

One significant benefit of limiting edits is that it helps preserve the natural chronology of the thread.  It may be painful, but I know I can always quote my dumbass previous statement and then correct it in present time.

Yesterday I noticed many photobucket links were not working - I checked an older post of mine this morning, they seem to be working:

I also found  spelling mistake I can't fix now either!

They work for every else as well? I think it's likely they don't work or won't for long.

My concern is that I won't be able to go back and modify these older threads with photos uploaded to this forum - once Photobucket or whichever host I used stops working, the threads are broken, the pictures gone - I'd like the forum to be like all the others I use - that is, let me edit my posts forever. If there are members editing posts for some unknown nefarious purposes, ban them - but this "I can't fix what I posted" setting is weird.
