Thriving it is, Oahu’s south shore has many different spots that are foilable, from Hawaii Kai to Barbers Point. Queens/Canoes is not the spot though unless there is an event (full disclosure, thats me in the green top behind Dave in the video). The outer reefs, away from the crowds are best and I’m still looking for that empty secret spot on a head high day. I’ve haven’t had any issues with other surfers, most are curious, ask questions and I see a lot of smiles if not utter amazement.
