We don't need no steenkin' paddles in the gorge.
Foote 10'4X34", SIC 17.5 V1 hollow and an EPS one in Hood River. Foote 9'0" x 31", L41 8'8", 18' Speedboard, etc. etc.

It was very good today, glad I went.

Today was holly shit awesome. I saw the forecast and it looked like crap, than I looked
out of the window and the water were white caps all over so I went on the 11 shuttle.

I couldn't believe it, I was the only one on the shuttle!!! and on the water as well.
I took the Evo One 14x26 for a spin. From the get go the run was awesome, so many
free rides I just couldn't stop smiling. Thought I was going to beat my personal best at
1:35 (which I did on the SIC FX 14x25 last year) without working too hard so I didn't
hammer it.

Seeing I was the only one on the shuttle, I didn't think I need to reserve a place for the
1 pm shuttle. I finished 3 minutes to 1pm at 1:37 and ran to the shuttle that was full
to the roof. Oh well, I don't think I would have topped my first run anyway as I was already
saturated after the first run. Not even going tomorrow, I need to build back the hunger.

You should have yelled at me. I self-shuttled with Dave (can't remember his last name). We could have stacked you on. I don't know what you look like, introduce yourself. I'm hard to miss--big, fat, old.

I knew there was no chance you going to miss on that day so I was looking for you in the crowd
but didn't see you, I know how you look like. Probably just missed you.

BTW, you can't miss me either, I'm always with neon yellow dorky outfit so if you see a bumblebee
like weirdo approaching you, please don't try to beat me with the paddle.

I just do a typical Go Pro mount but face the camera sideways.

Hey Blue - where is the camera mounted?  Didn't see your paddle at all but you seem to be moving along just fine

I put the mount a few inches from the nose, slightly ahead of where I bury the paddle. I was definitely paddling every now and then to keep up.  A few rests aside, we had a pretty fast run that day.

Hey Burchas, welcome to the Gorge. I met you in Maui when my son and I were doing a Maliko with JR. I'll look for you tomorrow. Maybe a double if it's good.

I'm not sure what tomorrow is going to be like, but if I get by the shop in the next day or so I'll toss my F16 on the rig for you. I don't think you'd do well on the Bullet V2. Too big.

Conditions seem to have gone calmer judging by the forecast. There is light wind blowing
up here in the cliffs, but the gusts are few and far in between and I don't see any serious
bumps forming. Any insights?  It looks to be the case for the next few days :-[

The wind should build today (according to Temira) up to 21-24 in from noon on. Best wind will be Viento to Mosier, so OK for a run. Monday will be light, Tuesday she says gusty 24-27 in the afternoon, and decent wind for the rest of the week, maybe. Long term wind forecasting is not reliable.

Bottom line, hit it today in the afternoon, rest tomorrow, pray for wind for Gorge Paddle champs. There's going to be some grumpy folks staring at the water on Monday (first day of the Champs run up).
