"Creek" model video #2 with Size Range & Pics
« on: June 30, 2017, 04:07:45 AM »
Rider stats
69 years old
235 lbs (106 kg)

I designed this performance board to have the stability I need in nasty conditions or New England winter gear....
or just to relax and have awesome performance in easy summer conditions  :)

This board has been my dream for a while, combining my favorite features from all my Sunova's.
My goal was uncompromised  performance, with needed stability
Bert Burger applied his magic to bring all these pieces together!
More than stoked with how well it turned out!!!

While my 9'4 x 32 does have the easy stability, it feels much smaller than it's size....more like a mid 8'er, performance wise.

The combination of the Speeed tail, performance rocker and outline curve is simply amazing!

Looks like you should design seal repellent into your next board :) Maybe that could be a feature in the production models.

Nice video. Since I notice details, I took a few looks at the split second shot showing how your feet were positioned on the 9'4" x 32" Creek model. Also, thanks for showing all the specs for or all of the different lengths the Creek comes in.

Thanks for the specs, the video and all of the photos in your post.

Sweet-Niblet's!  Super pics and a GREAT video showing a bit of a range of conditions - especially appreciative to see the board in lesser waves!

My go to board will continue to be my JL B&B given my passion for learning to nose ride but I've been talking/thinking about a board for when its not a B&B day and this (I believe) is exactly what I'm thinking I would want.  Time to start thinking about some cool color combo, or maybe just go with the traditional finish.  Sidelined for the next month or so but this gives me something to seriously dream about/ponder.

Love the video Creek!  Props and Thanks!!!!

Thanks guys!
Whatz^, I wouldn't normally chose the Creek for weak knee high waves, but it's nice to know that it works at shin high.

Night Wing... I was messing around with foot positions when paddling,  to test the boards stability... I was quite surprised that that wave didn't knock me down.

pguidry.... I am a test case for bright colors. My break is in the middle of the most heavily studied Great White territory in the world...and I surf at dawn a lot. Time will tell  :)

Don't feel like you have to surf that board all the time, just because it has your name on it  ::)
There is no such thing as a perfect board, but it looks like one you can be proud to have your name on.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

The 8.7 @ 115 could be my next board.  I'm spending most of my time now on my 7.10 L41 Popdart and I'm looking for something for when it's bigger, windier, or more crowded.  This board looks like maybe 90% of the Acid's performance, with a wider range of wave types -- the fuller nose and more parallel rails helping to generate planing and carry speed through turns.  Decisions, decisions....

Thanks TallDude, and don't worry, I surfed the 14' Search more than the Creek in last weeks tiny perfect waves.

Thanks Cheat.... this model is coming standard with color. Not positive what they will settle on, but they do nice color work.

shaver.... my high wind sessions on the Creek have me very happy with the speed it generates as well as performance and stability in rough conditions.
I have yet to ride it in any clean waves other than ankle slappers.

Thanks Creek

I think that this colour scheme is exceptional. The wood underneath is highlighted well. Love the transition. I look forward to what is decided for the production boards. I get so many positive comments about my Sunova boards and had several this morning out at Long Beach here on Vancouver Island. I lost the centre fin on my Skate after about an hour. Came in and the surfer in the car next to me said he had a fin I could borrow but he didn't have a key. The surfer on the other side lent me a key and got me back out into some nice waves. The shared stoke out here is palpable and I think these beautiful boards are helping to bridge the gap in a small way.

Cheers

I guess we are going to see a "Creek" model in Santa Cruz.  Kirby ordered one, with colors, no less.  Double Kewl.

I think he said 9.4@150L or so.

That would be 147.9 liters.
