Lake Leman [Geneva]

We paddled the length of the lake from Nyon to Montreux (50km/30mi) in favour of this charity event. Arriving in time for cocktail hour and the party.

   

Perfect conditions with a very nice boozy lunch on a lakeside terrasse in Evian. Slept on the lakeside in Montreux after the party. A perfect 24 h.

Great pics...love the moodiness of the fog...

A few years back we were camping on the edge of a lake that had never been standup paddled in the Sierras at around 9200' altitude...snowed on us in August driving in...after a very cold night, as the sun came up the next morning, a fog was created on the water as the land quickly warmed up...

Deb snapped these as I paddled out when it was forming...still some of my favorite flat water pics...the fog disappeared almost as quickly as it formed...

A few from the original tipping point "Woodstock" event of SUP racing...Rainbow Sandals sponsored "Battle of the Paddle"...2008...2009...2010...

At the 1st BOP, Chuck Patterson gambled on a $200 entry fee and walked away with $10K in beer money…he was on the wagon for the last month before the race…;-)

At that point in time, good paddlers on surfboard style SUPs were still placing at the top of the heap...probably still could in certain conditions...;-)
