ah ha!

I stand corrected on my previous comments on [not wanting] footstraps. My revised statement is: I'll start without footstraps.

Air! Of course!

One can get good air with foils. The landing is so soft when you nail them. It's like suspension. We used to jump a lot with the Air Chair.

Reminds me of two of my favorite sport quotes, both from Damien Sanders in Fall Line Films - Critical Condition - 1991).

“Air. That what it’s all about. I mean, if you don’t jump… it’s not your sport.”

Interviewer: “What do you think the silliest snowboarding trick is?”
Damien: “Errr… Every trick I did last year.”

There can't be too many haters of foiling out there.

They're surfing waves, and parts of waves, that no one else can surf.

Yep. Those foot straps give him a lot more pump, turn and jump power. Probably helps keep the foil away from you when you fall too.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.
