There appears to be an imposter claiming Beasho's credit in the comments below the vid, as well as a few derogatory remarks by the armchair Mavs wannabes.  :o

Cool!

I am usually skeptical because it ends up being Haley Fiske or Ian Wallace.  But yes that was me.

It was nice of that other guy to take the heat for it.  I was just sad they took out my singing and beautiful soundtrack that added to the levity.

The comments crack me up. Who are these people? I checked out a couple of them, I don't see any indication that they ever surfed anything head high, and some don't seem to surf at all. Wow.

It brings me so much joy to imagine those commenters trying to even sit in the lineup out there.

Also talking about shoulder hopping on any wave over 20' is also a sign of someone who's never been in those sorts of lineups or even really watched footage of any big wave session. There's no way to prevent it, clearly, watch any Waimea footage from the last 40 years.

@Beasho

Thanks for posting the vimeo video. Although you posted the Facebook link, since I do not have a Facebook account (don't want one either), I was never able to see your video on Facebook.

BTW, nice sup surfing on those nice large and consistent waves.

I love the one where the guy says he should be banned from Mavericks forever.  Beasho didn't even really drop in on the guy, the guy was crashed probably by the time Beasho took off on the wave.

You can still watch the Facebook video and read the comments even if you don't have an account. Just click where it says "Not Now" when the box pops up. I don't have a Facebook account either and had no trouble watching/reading.

Not only that, the dickheads called it shoulder-hopping. To shoulder hop Beasho would have to be to surfer's left (closer to the wave pocket) of the guy eating it. That wouldn't have worked well.

I don't have the nerve or the skills to chase those waves. I intend to work at it some, but I understand that much, much less than .01 percent of the world's surfers would ever attempt something like the wave Beasho is riding with a big-ass grin on his face. Makes it much more ironic that the schmucks sitting on their ass as I am now (it's cold out there--I'm going to wait for a little sun heat before I go surf waist high waves) have the gall to criticize him--and can't even get the terminology right.

The inlet at Bolsa Chica was shoulder and sometimes head high this morning. High tide was killing it, mid to late morning would have been the call.  Goldenwest street was consistently head high.  SurfLies was not calling it right.  You should come up here.

I had a nice session at Cardiff. Too many people, but that's how these holiday surf days are.  California is full of crazy peeples. But it's fun.
