Two SUPs stolen from car roof today at Pipeline Masters

Please spread the word if your in Oahu. Came back from watching the Pipeline masters and they stole both my sons SUP and mine.

It would be tough to fence boards that size. Have you posted a notice on craigslist? Either way Ill keep an eye out for them in the Waialua/Haleiwa area.

unfortunately events attract douchbags as well. Nice stuff around and people are distracted.

At a SUP race in Marseille I was helping a young female racer find her paddle at the start of her race. I found her a loaner that kind of fit form the organisers. After her race I bumped into her and asked if she'd located her own paddle.
- "No worries, it was one of the event paddles" she told me, and that her board was an event board too.
- "Oh. Did you come from far?" I asked.
- "No", she replied, "I'm from Marseilles" and pointed along the shore less than 1/2 mile away.
- "You don't have your own board" I asked? She was a pretty good paddler.
- "Sure I do" she said, "But I'd never bring it to the beach in Marseilles. Not even if I was standing right next to it."

voila! Shocking but true.

That's terrible.  Thieves are the scum of the earth. Check Craigslist & offer-up to see if they're trying to make some quick cash. If so, meet up w/ them for a beat down or have the cops roll w/ you.  Good luck & hope the news spreads and your boards get back to you.

Thanks guys, it really sucks for my son who cant SUP the rest of his vacation because we cant find a 6-6" sup. I can always go rent a board, but still wont be what i'm used to. I've been putting them on my roof for 30 years with no issues. They cut the straps with a blade, right in front of where the cops were sitting with their blue light on.   We printed out flyers and posted them at all the shops.

That's why I would like to get those steel core straps.  At least you can't cut them with a knife. 

Ugh, what a way to ruin your trip.  I've had my car broken into on a Maui vacation.  The lowlifes made off with a windsurfing harness that wasn't cheap.
