My old Hobie was 8'10 x 28 - and I really liked the "glide" it had. The board was buckled during El Nino last year on a large set (way over head) on the west coast and no real mistake - just got a heavy one that boomed on the board... After speaking with locals they told me it simply happens... Guess she went the "right" way...

In any event, I [really] like the shape of the Fanning but at 31'5, I am concerned about the speed / glide of the board and by the shape of the rails (never surfed these before). Brett I ll follow-up on your PM now - Southhampton is not that far (plus I can swing by Ditch after...)
