Surf trips can be a real crap shoot...you just never know if you're gonna get it good. 🤔Last week my wife Teri and I went to SoCal on a "family trip" to visit my daughter. I took a SUP just hoping to catch a few waves while there🙏...OMG!... Great swell hitting the coast the entire time I was there👍😀!! All the breaks were going off with multiple fun sessions at SanO and Beacons. The highlight was the 2 day trip down south of the border  where I scored two sessions SURFING ALONE at a Mexican pointbreak👍👍👍👍! Never in my dreams did I think this "family trip" would become an ultimate "Surf Safari"
🏄🏄🏄🏄🏄👍🏄😃😃!! Left a board out there for future trips and hope to catch it like that again!! You just never know...

Glad you got waves.  It's been really windy most of the summer so like others here somewhat frustrating but last week  some nice waves and no much wind.   I haven't heard any one call it surfin safari in many many years. Have that song in my jeer.  My best college friend and I would go on surfin safari every Easter break during the early 70s. We start insanjose drive down the coast highway camp where ever. There were lots of places on highway 1 meet up with some girls that he knew at sdsu then into Mexico .  Some of the best memories of my life from those trips

Nice wave shot photos.

Just curious. If you don't mind me asking; what is the make, model, length and width of your sup you rode in the photos?

WOW! Wish I was a family member!  :P
One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

NightWing...the board I'm riding is a 9'2 30 inch wide JP Australia Pro Surf model... (I've lost some weight since I bought it a couple of years ago and my go to board at home is an 8'5 Sunova  Speeed...)
Tom... I was out there several years ago and caught some fun surf! (I think I rented a board from you👍😀!!) Now that I've left a board out the I hope to "visit" more often!!
Just wanted to mention that the vibe in SoCal was very mellow this year.👏👏!! It did seem that there were fewer SUPers in the water than in years past🤔?
Here a few more pics from the trip

Thanks for listing your board maker, model and it's length and width. I'm always interested in "details" when I see things in video or photos. Again, thanks for replying to my question. It's much appreciated.
