Looking for an old wooden surfboard...

Wifey is interested in trying to find an old vintage wooden surfboard (and refinish, if necessary) in order to hang in our new place in RI.  Anybody got any ideas/leads as to where I might be able to find one?  PM me if any insight/thoughts/leads.

Hey bud, sometimes craigslist has them locally, if not Mr Big can check with his Cape Cod buddies and probably find you one down that next of the woods.

Thanks Derek!  I've been checking Craigslist, Ebay, web search, etc.   I'm not adverse to trying to build an oldie from scratch or a kit...I don't, however, have any idea on difficult that may be(?)  I recall seeing some beauties in Pono's home listing as well.

A friend Peter K who is a contractor worked with Shawn Vecchione to have this board made as a Tiki Bar for a client

You might contact Vec directly...

Personally, there should be some Mana to it though, and I would think you should have  a board that has been ridden, and could be ridden at any time....Could you really stare at it for years without wondering how it would go?  ....That would torture me.

Slatch:  Thanks man!  some really cool looking boards there!  LOVE that Hobie orig!!!!   Too pricey though and I really want to avoid shipping a board with a fixed skeg....

I'm gonna reach out to local Surf king, Sid Abruzzi, and see what he has....if anything there'll be a ton of guys displaying 100's of boards at surf fest in Newport next July!
