I got a 2016 8'8" from our own SUP Position a few months ago. A little background on the rider (me), I'm 59 years young, and weigh around 185-190. I've surfed my entire life, until I wisely decided to give SUS'ing a try.
First, the board is nice and stable for paddling, and very tolerable in bumpy, windy junk.
On the wave, it really begs to be turned, constantly. Hard bottom turns are rewarded with speed, and hitting the lip is what this board is made to do, almost effortlessly. This Starboard has taken my skills to an entire new level. Hope this helps a little.

Most stable board I have ever been on for anything 150 liters or less; far more stable than the length or volume would indicate. Its the kind of board that makes choppy or windy days fun. Very light weight. Lots of curve in the outline means that it turns plenty tight, though with the wide tail you need to remember to keep the back foot active from rail to rail. The quad fin setup works very well on the wide tail. By far my favorite board from Starboard; a winner.

My 8'8" JP Surf Wide Body Pro is more stable, its 135L. I think it's the wider nose that does it.
FWIW I ride both boards Quad fin.
