LPC River Rover - $1,000
« on: September 08, 2016, 06:37:55 AM »
Selling my little used LPC River Rover. Excellent/very good condition. No dings or repairs ever needed.

Dot get me wrong, I like this board, but I like my laird better so this one tends to get little use. So far I've mainly used it for Winter paddling but even then I would take the Laid out more often. This was the last board I bought when I was going through my phase of buying and trying many different boards (nice well known brands/models). I found that with my height and weight, even if I was near the max rated weight for a given board, it wasn't that good. Too far out of the "sweet spot". Sure they would float me, but they were slogging at the extreme. The Rover fit the bill.

The sharp nose of this board just cuts through the waves like a hot knife through butter. More stable than some, even side chop doesn’t give me too much of an issue on this board. I would say this board is either an Expedition/Fishing board for some one smaller, or a fast touring board for Clydesdale paddlers. Given my 260lbs it floated me no problem. I would say the sweet spot for this board is between 225 and 300 though its rated up to 350 pounds. And with my height at 6’ 6”, and my reach I have no issues paddling and never hit the rails even when sprinting. The Rover tracks well, no issues with excessive turning under hard paddle.

The Rover is well made, has good stability, and really nice glide for its size with ample room if you want to load it up.

More looking to sell but might consider interesting trades.
