Very stable, makes a great downwind board as well as touring and racing.

Yeah, it’s a nice board, but me being 155lb I feel it has too much volume for me. I have a new NSP 12’6 x 25 Surf Race Pro that I love so this board is just going to collect dust in my garage.

Can you give me the quick and dirty comparison with your NSP on speed, stability and board weight?  Thanks.

My NSP is 22.5 lb. My All Star is 29.5 lb. Keep in mind that I’m comparing a 12’6 to a 14.
 The NSP has rounded rails and rounded bottom from nose to tail. In choppy conditions it will give your legs a serious workout. It’s very maneuverable which makes it super fun. This board has made me a fan of rounded bottom boards. It’s tippy, but predictable. With that said, I have friends that have struggle with rounded bottom boards and ended up selling them. 
The All Star is very stable and feels like it’s on rails. This can be a good thing especially on distance races where your legs can get fatigued and you can take a lot of strokes on one side. I’m about .3 mph faster on it but on a strong side wind (over 12 mph) the NSP is faster. I’m disappointed in the changes on the 2017 model with even more volume and concave to the nose. It will probably be faster in flat water but even less maneuverable I think, but I could be totally wrong since I haven’t paddled it.
As you can see, two very different boards. Both are great, it’s just a matter of preference. I prefer the NSP.

Thanks Chilly.  I sold my 14' All Star for the same reason and am on the hunt for a new 12'6".  The NSP 12'6" x 26" Surf Race Elite is on the short list.
