Your idea of "tapping out" would be my idea of the best work I've ever done.

Thanks.

Forgot to post this one

Center it

I use the one pass router bit -made the initial cut then switched over to a standard bit and free handed it  since this box was reinforced and didn't have the standard box shape.

Glassed / sanded / feather out and blended (most of my time is spent sanding)

Tinted and hot Coated / feather sand in the blend and boom!

New EPS

Set and sanded

Routed out 1/2" for new pvc

Handle routed and installed

Glass on bottom of veneer then vac bagged on

Done! Forgot to get the Carbon pic bit same thing vac bagged on them re glued the deck pad.

Every repair I do is back to the original layup

I think they painted the stringer on that SIC board to imply that the board actually had a stringer, but it doesn't. I've done a few fin box replacements where the graphic stringer isn't actually centered or even straight nose to tail. I put my laser on them and on one board all the fin boxes were shifted 1/2" to one side, and not even aligned with the nose.
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

Yup! I never go by lines or graphics, it actually makes a bit harder to get everything center. If you notice the original box is not center with the template.

This sic was done for two reasons - the owner wanted more fin options and there was a Delam area right on top of where the new center box is. Check out this pic, it was Dry Stranded glass

Lots of sanding and prep work for quality results no way around it - it takes as long as it takes.

As always, stellar work. What did you fill that last blue board with? That's a lot of foam gone, pour foam?
