Doggie Paddle
« on: June 13, 2016, 10:08:10 PM »
I've always wanted to try and surf with a dog. Today I finally got to do it! Too bad the dog didn't cooperate with me as well as w/his owner. But Cole is a great animal! He's super friendly and energetic! I sorta caught a wave with him...just ghosted the tiny bit of juice it provided. The board was a 12' ATX single w/a dog pad up front. Too bad the owner lent it to someone and they left it in the hot sun...TOTALED! I've never seen a board EVER in such bad shape from the sun. It actually rode ok when I finally caught about the best wave that came through! Lot goin' on down here in Surf City now that summer's kicked in...first time in trunks for me. Beautiful days here.
Stay Stoked!

One could go into a mall in Kansas and ask a teenager "What is a surfer looking for?, and the answer will always be, "The perfect wave"

Wow!  :o I've always wondered what the sun rays could do to a paddle board left out in the sun for an extended period of time and now I know.

BTW, nice photos. Thanks for taking the time to post them.

Think what it would do to a high performance shortboard barley over 2" thick.

That sun damage is amazing--I wonder how far away it is from a bit snap.  I'd stay close to shore and out of big surf.   :o

I have the same rule for guitars also..... I work hard to pay for nice stuff... and I can't afford just to replace it if someone bashes it to hades.

Absolutely agree. I actually take it a step further. Except for a very few who I know are excellent paddlers, I don't let anyone on my hard boards. I have two inflatables that I'll let people use, but not my hard boards. And I'll only let people use my inflatables when I'm with them.
