Dave Boehne's Inertia article
« on: May 06, 2016, 02:02:39 PM »
I wish I lived in southern CA sometimes so I could try to paddle with and hang out with the speed freaks.

I was really surprised to see The Inertia actually doing a positive article on SUP.

The comments are kinda negative. Is responding worth the effort?

Good on Dave for trying. He has the skills and background to be a good voice of reason..... to those who are capable of reasoning with. I would only imagine negative comments on Inertia. Didn't even waste my time reading any of them.
It's not overhead to me!

Yes, but maybe more effective to respond positively to the article than negatively to the comments.

Bean,  You're right - 100%  ..it's too easy to put fists when encountering ignorants and/or dirt balls.

i was actually surprised by the lack of abject flaming hatred so evident in years past-there were relatively few overall comments for such a sore issue amongst the "real"surfers i took it as a good sign.
Hard to argue with the skills of the young guns and there are still lots of newbs and donkeys and snakes out there to reinforce the narrative, always will be, as i get older and slower and my skills erode i will undoubtedly join the ranks of the aforementioned.
Oh well, in the meantime i try to have a great time, be cool to everyone and enjoy myself, if i sup surf in an area with proners i take it easy, give away waves, sit down, just be mellow and try to kill it when i catch a wave, not so much to prove to anyone that i can surf, but just to put sup surfing in a positive light.

Now we need Dave to take on the Lunada Bay Boys, litter, GMOs, and political corruption.

He's gonna need a bigger van.  :)
