Different isup construction
« on: April 21, 2016, 11:23:48 PM »
Tripstix -  no high tension fabric. Tunes and vacuum packed granules.... Like a vacuum packed bag of coffee.....
Nice shapes............. But will it really work?

Found a "new thing" today - not an Isup - but yet, an Isup - Row on Air ( rowonair.com ) - and at first I was, oh, clearly they are buying Red's Elite and putting a rowing frame on it. But - it is 18', not 14' - and then I read  "4 degree" bottom...hmmm..what?  They also have a version of Seyvlor's kayak as a rower. They also are doing a "reverse thrust" so you get to see where you are going - I assume that's not "new" but I'm not a rower :D Maybe if I wasn't going backwards I would like it lol.

What I'm interested in is= the 4 degrees. What would that do to a "sup"? More stable? Less initial/more secondary stability?
And - man, this would REALLY work ( I think ) with a 2 chamber split down the middle where my earlier idea of a vertical stabilizing panel (like is glued into foam surf boards for support - but this would be either rollup "fibersomething" or a puzzle-keyed series of solid panels - and with the wider bottom of like this below, it could be a "t-beam" or maybe a "fat bottom/thin top knife shape" for more strength) would fit right in the gap made by the 4 degree (or whatever is good for a sup) angle.

oy. too slow to re-read and edit. not seyvlor kayak - but rather seaeagle.com - the one wth the "sup as a side of the boat". On some other thread I've posted this design postulating that with a bit of reshaping - would be a good sup, at least it would LOOK like the "canoes" that are showing up more and more in the sup world. Taper the back more, tighten in the side rails...yeah you have a "canoe sup" thing going.
