Paddle weight?

It's down to to the Werner Trance 85 2-piece vs 3-piece.

I paddle with an all carbon Werner Trance 85 Performance Adjustable (74"-81.5") 2 piece  paddle. I really like mine. It weighs 19.25 ounces. Since I'm a small guy of 145 pounds, I chose the Trance 85 because I didn't want to "bite" a large amount of water on the paddle stroke since I sometimes travel a few miles during a paddle session. The Trance 85 doesn't wear me out since I had a large bone spur removed surgically in my left AC shoulder joint a few years back.

@spirit4earth, did you end up sending the original Trance back to Outdoorplay, or to Werner?

I just read this thread AFTER ordering an adjustable 80-87.5 Trance 85 from Outdoorplay, hopefully they don't send me your return, lol!

Lol!  No, I sent it to Werner.  I called outdoorplay before ordering the paddle, just to ask about how they package it for shipping etc, and whoever I talked to was extremely nice.  I got the paddle in good time, but it had what I thought (and Werner confirmed) to be too much play.  I called outdoorplay after getting the paddle, and the guy I talked to was a bit of an ignorant jerk.  They dropped the ball--or should I say, punted?  All they did was contact Werner for me, and then Werner emailed me after I sent pictures.  It all went smoothly, though not without worry, after that.  The paddle I got back, which may or may not be the original paddle I received, has just a tiny bit of play, and I'm comfortable with that.  The carbon blade is a bit different than the Nitro's in that the sanded edges of the blade are whitish---kind of strange.  I haven't had a chance to try the paddle because I STILL NEED A BOARD!!!!   AAARRRRGGGHHH! 

That's a relief on the paddle being sent back to Werner, now I know I won't be getting the paddle with play sent to me, lol!   


Good luck on finding the right board, take your time researching and make sure it's what you want, these things aren't cheap and it would suck to drop down big bucks on a board and not be happy with it.
