Coreban EZ vs. Focus Smoothie 10-0?
« on: March 22, 2016, 11:05:15 AM »
I've got a couple boards I need some feed back on if anyone can offer an opinion..  The Coreban EZ (10x34, 198 litres) and a Focus Smoothie (10x32, 183 litres)

Both will suit my needs, but I'm wondering about build quality and reputation.  The Coreban is the core layup, and the Focus is the "wood" .. I believe the Coreban is about 27 lbs while the focus is 25.  They're pretty much the same price.. So I could pretty well flip a coin but I'm sure there's a Zoner or two with 2 cents to give me...
It ain't over until the fat board sinks....

The Coreban EZ is an egg shaped Surf Sup.
~200L, more of a big guys  short board 34" Wide
and turns best off the tail..
The Core Lay up is on the heavy side, the Pure lay up is the lightest and strongest.

The Focus Smoothy is an allrounder that is 32" Wide. ~183L
Surfs like a long board, and is good for general paddling..
Construction is average.

So it will depends on your surfing style and what else you want to do with it...

Not to add confusion here but ...

I'd add the Fanatic AllWave HRS to the mix either the older 9'10 a fish type of board or the Newer 9'8 more  shortboard like.
Construction is far better than the Coreban or Focus and I bet less expensive than either.
