Cocoa Beach SUP Rentals
« on: February 16, 2016, 04:58:23 AM »
Hey All,

Got shut out in Lil' Rhody this past weekend - wife and I had a planned trip there and I thought for sure I'm be able to get a session or two in.  Figures, coldest weekend of the year and windy as hell....friggin-A.  So, upon getting back home yesterday I decided to plan a surprise Spring Break surf trip w/ my daughter to Cocoa Beach.

We'll be staying within walking distance of the CCB pier for several days.  Looks like a nice mellow (and shallow) beach break...albeit popular!  Question is: where a good place to rent SUPs for 4-5 days?  I'm a novice rider still getting along quite nicely on my 9'5" Allwave and would love nothing better than to rent one of those.

Thanks in advance for the suggestions!   8)

Wind and sea board shop

5240 N Atlantic Ave #160, Cocoa Beach, FL 32931

They are also walking distance to cocoa beach pier.  Basically right out in front of it on Atlantic.

Thanks Ninja.  I checked out their website and see they list/carry Coreban, Infinity, Boga, Hobie, and Smooth SUP's.  I'm not familiar with any of those brands so will have to do some recon.

I wonder if STC left any Sunova's down around there during his travels last fall??????

Ninja: I'd be totally fine with finding a 9'5" Allwave or comparable.  I just pm'd Creek to see if he left any Sunova's down there that I might demo as well that might fit my particulars (6'1" @ 205lbs novice).  As I mentioned to Creek, I'm quite comfortable on my Allwave at 170L and have been training on my DIY goof board over the last several weeks with noticeable improvement.  Point being, my balance if definitely getting better so that, w/ my comfort on the AW 9'5", probably opens me up to a little bit of range.  I just want to demo and rent board(s) that there not too steep of a learning curve... something that keeps me on top of the water more than in would be nice...that's not to say I'm not open to some stretch - I just don't want to take 4 days of falling, etc., trying to get the hang of a board.

ok,

Erik is the owner of the shop and a cool guy to talk boards with. He shapes there too.  Like I said, the shop is clossssssssssssseeeeeeeeee.   Call him and see what he has for you.

Other shops in the area that you will have to drive to.

Epic paddlesports, probably a 15 min drive to the south from the pier.

Paddleboard house  probably a 40 min drive to the south from the pier.

Have not seen allwaves in any of those shops, but they should have comparables.

No sunovas down here that i know of.   I think Creek took them all back with him.
