Blue Planet SUP's are now available in Europe
« on: March 09, 2017, 04:50:29 PM »
Our new distributor in Europe just received the first shipment of boards and is officially in business.  We are looking for dealers all over continental Europe, for more information, please visit:

Check out their cool new Sprinter van, I wish we had one like that here in Hawaii.

Excellent Robert! I feels like there currently is more paddling growth in Europe. Being a bit of a business pessimist, it does seem like the right move.
Mai Kai !
It's not overhead to me!
8'8" L-41 ST and a whole pile of boards I rarely use.

This is good news. We have quite a limited selection in Europe. But that's partly to do with the fact that the big windsurf brands have a lot of the retailers sewn up. It's hard to get past that as a specialist brand, especially if prices are comparable.

Are you not going to be selling your DW boards in Europe? The website seems to indicate no availability.

Thanks for the comments!

Paco, the European distributor did not think there would be demand for our Bump Rider models in Europe so he did not order any but I think he should stock at least a few.  You should email Paco and tell him the European market is ready for a real downwind board,  he is just putting together another order, so it would be good timing, haha:

^ I know of 20+ DW boards just in my wee town on my wee lake.

And you say no interest in fvindy Holland. Isn’t that weird?

Then again…

Yeah but the biggest race in the Netherlands is the 11 cities race, and you'd hardly use a DW board for that.

Even though it has a huge range of boards, Starboard (a European brand, after all) doesn't even have a DW board in its range (and no, the All Star is not a downwind board, it's an all-conditions board...). It used to (the Point I think it was called, around 14-7 or something), shaped by Mark Rasphorst. But no more, sadly. So, I can see the logic behind the BP distributor's hesitation. What every EU distributor wants is a bread-and-butter flat water/ocean race board to sell, like the All Star, Maliko, Sidewinder, Falcon etc. Sales of more specialised boards are hard to rely on.

They got wind, and they have Lenten.

(and that, my friends, is what 50 kn looks like)

Even if they aren't interested...
while some little tiny landlocked country is buying up loads of DW boards just think of the million miles of wicked good coast just ready to be downwinded. It'll catch on. Just watch.

Nice wrap on that Sprinter!  Good for you Robert.  Funny A-10 mentions 'a limited selection in Europe'...  in the early 2000s we in the States were drooling over all those cool 'Euro' kites - I gray-marketed about four interesting brands for myself, rather than fly a generic Naish. (not always to my benefit)

Given the powerful magnetic force, the Hawaiian Islands have in Europe, I can see a lot of Brah wannabes.  Good luck to you.

Jim

BTW... what's that white board w/blue pad on the left with the safety nose in the top photo?

Congratulations Robert... Europe is lucky to have you!
I am sure the Aloha you bring will be well received!

Not to mention, a great excuse for you to travel to all those awesome countries  :)
