Their training makes ours look like sprint canoeing!   One thing that stands out above all is a solid base with 3 months of 70-75% effort before any training begins (Danny Ching echos this).   A complete base is essential if you want to reach your potential.   It'll allow you to achieve a higher AT and VO2 max with the intense training that follows, and hold a peak longer for multiple races in quick succession before you must back off.
