New board decision

90kg int surfer trying to decide between deep minion 7,8 and the fanatic allwave 8,5 I presume the allwave would  easier in chop or all round regargless

This is kind of a shot in the dark since I have no idea your ability or waves you intend to surf (Where) also I have no experience with Minnion

As far as the Fanatic products the Stubby 8'5 will give you faster rail to rail trasitions and great speed down the line With more of a craving feel of this Stubby design (unlike the flatter turning Stubbies (more skateboard like) of the JP Slate, Raptor ect...) more like the Sunova Speeed. Assuming this board you are contemplating is on the smaller side it will be challenging in choppier conditions

As far as the AllWave (AW) these make "everyday conditions come alive. Although not as quick rail to rail. They have a more traditional board feel than the Stubbies and perform great in choppier conditions due to width and thicker rails

So in comparison, The AW is the everyday board that makes it fun in whatever conditions you find. The Stubby is a higher performance board in higher performance conditions. This configuration makes lower volume/reduced sized surfing SUP's accessable to a larger group of SUP surfers

Again these are just my opinions nothing is written in stone SURF SUPing

Agree, I regret selling my AllWave.  Great surfing, easy to ride board.  Not super high performance, but capable in all kinds of surf.

Beach Cruiser vs Carbon Racer...  I pictured myself as being up to the later  ..then tucked tail and sold my V-Box to surfercook who has the skills to ride it.  Perhaps the Stubby has less rocker and is wide.  May be general agreement, there is more action to be had from many of these newer shapes - Stubby, Raptor, Speeed, etc... 

The AW is bombproof and an easy sell if you want to make a quick change.  I'd probably buy one used if you are on the fence.
