One board (Bullet 14V2) works well for me. Like Stoney, when I'm on flatwater it's usual a sightseeing trip, so I'm not focused on maximizing speed, and when I'm DWing or in the ocean, where performance does matter, that board does everything exceptionally well. There are also benefits to dealing with just one board, like saving space and money and getting it really dialed in.

I have N+1... N boards here in Hong Kong and one board in the US. That board is a SIC Bullet v1 TWC, and there I don't race, so for me it is the perfect all-round board for all conditions.

OS,

Actually, if you have N+1, you're still short a board. :)

I'm now leaning towards the quiver of 2 and adding a more dedicated downwind board like the Bullet V1 or a Jimmy Lewis M-14 for downwinding, rough conditions, and the occasional big board surf session.  ;D

Both are really fine examples of DW boards - and both excel in slightly different power bands.  Rough conditions and more surf oriented -> the forgiving M-14 works well.

For a single board quiver with more DW slant -> the Bullet 14V2 is an excellent choice as others have noted.

Agreed,  Luc! I feel very lucky to be able to own a couple specialist boards that I can match to the conditions.
