body surfing alligators
« on: August 02, 2015, 06:33:43 PM »
We can't win in the Carolina's this year. The shark attacks subside and the gators take over all the good surf spots!

gator or saltwater croc?

It's a gator. NC and SC Intercoastal waterway is full of them from Wilmington on south. Last year on vacation at Holden Beach,NC all of us on SUP's had to get off the ICW. They were really active that day.

Hana,   Being from Wisonsin ..are they as aggressive as the saltwater cocos you hear about in OZ?  ..like OW mentioned.  (can't imagine the bacteria load from a nip...)

I don't think they are that aggressive except in nesting season. If they have new born they are very protective of their territory. I had one slap side of my bassboat with her tail about 10yrs.back cause I kept going thru her nesting area on trolling motor power. Guy with me got "concerned" cause I kept aggravating her on purpose ;D
