Go Pro Art is way better
« on: December 22, 2008, 08:49:16 AM »
I hate the Gopro and having to look through 1000's of pics because they are all the same to me. I now know what Blaine means about me,me,me with the gopro. I think the video mode is the way to go.......Well enough of my ranting so I decided to look for the most artistic ones and here are my choices...............

I was thinking the same thing!

Byron, was it easy to get the camera off the surfboard and on to the skateboard? I am thinking about getting one but I want to be able to put it on my skis and my hubby's snowboard in the winter and then switch it to my paddle board in the summer. Do you think it would handle sticking to different surfaces over the longterm or is it better to keep it on one surface? Thanks!

I want to be able to switch boards so will need multiple mounts. When I asked GoPro, they said to keep checking back because they were going to be offering extra sticky mounts.. Hopefully they will be cheap enough... like $10 or so..

I told you!!   Hee hee!    I think there are a lot of people who are going to LOVE it because of this!!   Austin and I constantly harass each other for using it.   We call it the narcissism camera.

Here's my contribution to the Artsy Fartsy pics...
Turning off the E-GO PRO Camera

A neat little whitewater sploosh...

Morning sprays...

There's a little rainbow on the right of the picture...   I just barely made it over this wave.   Austin got the first wave of this set and right behind it was this solid double up I paddled my butt off to get over.   16' face at least...   This shot is just as I got over it and still getting rained on by the waves spray.     Not a huge wave but it was super thick, hollow and it had bad intentions!

This just sums up our morning surfs.   No one around and just beautiful...

I probably wasn't there a micro second later...

Signing off...

Princess for the skateboard I used the black base that the camera was mounted on. Sam Pa'e is building a suction cup mount that is currently in testing phase.

I would vote for this portrait but the paddler is too young:

Nice shots Byron, you know before the Wide Angle GoPro and 5 Mp upgrade, the still pictures function from the STD GoPro was very ordinary. It's amazing what difference it makes. The only other waterproof camera that had an interval function was the Pentax WP Optio series 10,20 and 30 and they took good video too (you can still pick them up cheap on Ebay). The interval fuction was programable to actually turn the camera power off and on as well as set the interval and number of stills taken at different intervals. Having the unit power on and off meant that the battery would last a very long time, you could also switch off the LCD screen. Neat little camera that one.

I used to mount it on a remote controlled rotating mount so that i could change direction of the cam anytime. You can see it in operation here.

Here's another handy mount you can put on a paddle with a universal joint.

Thank you for the comment snappyhead unfortunately I am bound by AKC breeding requirements and can only sell to reputable people that pass background checks. Try the pound and maybe you can get a mixed breed dog.
