Hi,looking foward to change my JL 9´2" SG,for a shorter and a little more stable board, suitable for a wider type of waves.I´m 64 5´8" 150 pounds, some knee issues, comfortable up to 120 lts,i like the SG a lot,but i feel i need a larger swell to get it really going, and that happened a few times at Kanaha,S-Turns & Waiehu while at Maui, where i ussually paddle,i´m intermediate(1 intense year experience),and i dont´t see me going for DOH,better waist to head.I´m going back to Maui for a couple of months and i´ll preciate any advise about these boards.

at 150 lbs you could really be on something a lot lower volume. (i'm 175 lbs, 5'11" and comfortable at 95L and 27" wide).

not convinced the PR 8'5" or the 8'8" airborn is really going to be that different from your SG. maybe consider the 7'10x30 or 7'10 x 31 Airborn instead? plenty stable at your height/weight.

Thanks for your comment, but, at 64 and my knees, balance is an issue,i surfed boards down to 100lts,but just gets choppy or windy, the fun goes away,i´ll stay in the 120lts range. So far i didn´t find many Air Born reviews, seems more an wave-all round board, while i got a comparison between de WW 8´5" & 9¨2" SG,by the same owner, and he finds a better overall balance and wave range in the WW.

   at 64,balance is an issue,

This is our problem for us in our 60's. I'd love to be able to ride my Hyper board more but if it isn't glassy, forget it. Too much work. After 2 months of working on it it's still too much of a challenge to enjoy the experience. I'm in great shape but some things just go south with age, balance being one even with work.
Boards:

8-10 x 31 Egg
8-11 X 32 Double wing Fangtail Tom Whitaker
8-6 X 30 1\2  Inbetweener Tom Whitaker
8-4 x 30 Hyper quad Tom Whitaker (wife's now)
8-4 X 31 1\4.  Round (wide) Diamond Tail Quad Tom Whitaker
9-4 X 30 1\2. Swallow Stinger Quad Tom Whitaker (ex wifes now)

I know a guy who moved from the same Stun Gun to an 8 5 WW and prefers it ....better in wider range of waves and he reckons a bit more stable.

i surf all conditions on my PR.  Mostly because its the only board that fits in my elevator while im temporarily in an apt.  Its a great board- and does everything well- but the shape i feel is getting kinda dated.  It was pretty revolutionary 6 years ago...but from discussions (disclosure-i havent ridden it) the airborne would be a better choice.  Plus in 210lbs and at 150lbs - even in severe chop it still is alot of liters for you.  You can still be stable with more performance without all the width and volume in the mid and nose as the PR has

Thanks everyone for their comments, actually i´m closer to the JL WW 8´5" (i agree with  NorthJerzSurfer, about the PR) & tough i like the look of the AB,i feel might be slow at 31,5",price is an issue too.Sorrowly, none of these boards is available here, in Argentina, not even to look at them, demos, out of the question.I beleive ,once in Maui i´ll rent-test & decide
