short fiberglass paddles-the future?

We all know how important the paddle is and we can argue all day about flex, strength, blade size, shaft length, carbon, wood and shoulder pains, but my progression for surfing has been to short fiberglass. My current paddle is now full fiberglass and approx 2" taller than me. This paddle is a revelation. Each to their own, but the shaft flex and length is so comfortable and so much easier to surf with and much less stress on the shoulders. IT also has  the feeling of unbreakability.
I have bust 3 carbon paddles in the last year and have the opinion that carbon is too brittle to use in such a long paddle shaft and the rigidity is too heavy on the shoulders. I reckon that short fiberglass paddles are the future.
