SC pfd laws

Can anyone tell me if SC requires pfds when paddling on lakes?

Yes.  A good rule of thumb is that you need to follow kayak/canoe regs unless you are in the surf zone at the ocean.

Check out the SCDNR website. They will have pfd rules for you there.
